Crew death at Will Young show

Bill Andrews, working for Serious Stages on the Will Young concert at Rochester Castle Gardens on July 15, was found unconscious on stage shortly after 6:00pm, reportedly suffering from severe head injuries.

He was moved to Medway Maritime Hospital in Gillingham after receiving treatment from paramedics on site, but was pronounced dead later that evening.

Serious released the following information.

‘Kent Police in Medway have issued a statement and are not treating the death as suspicious. The incident site has been reopened and all shows at Rochester Castle are going ahead as scheduled. Police are not investigating any health and safety issues surrounding the incident and the death is thought to be from natural causes, although this cannot be confirmed until a post mortem has been carried out.

‘We would like to express our sincere condolences to Bill's family and friends and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time. He will be sorely missed by everyone.’
